Our Story..
Aerial Canvas began as a private aerial studio in Abbotsford, Victoria, providing a creative space for artists to explore and develop their passion for the aerial arts. Founded by Rachel Hunt in 2014, it attracted students from all over Australia and internationally, offering tuition in a variety of aerial apparatuses including Aerial Hoop, Hammock, Silks and Pole.
In 2017 we launched Aerial Canvas Online, with Rachel offering remote performance coaching and subscription access to a library of hundreds of video tutorials. These cover a broad range of topics utilising Rachel’s vast performance experience and knowledge as a Physiotherapist as well as instructional content for Aerial Hoop, Hammock and Silks.
In 2019 Rachel returned to the stage with Cirque du Soleil as a pole artist and puppeteer on 'Luzia - a waking dream of Mexico'.
This year Rachel is partnering with local and regional Victorian studios helping develop Aerial Canvas Teacher Resources to help teachers stay professionally engaged and optimised in their work in the aerial industry.
